Ba Den Mountain Sacred Peak & Tay Bo Da Son Bodhisattva Sanctuary
Category: Sacred Mountain Summit & Cultural Sanctuary | Location: Thanh Tan Commune, Tay Ninh City, Tay Ninh Province
Soaring majestically above fertile southern plains just 11 kilometers northeast of Tay Ninh City, Mount Ba Den (Black Virgin Mountain) stands at 986 meters as the undisputed "Roof of Southeast Vietnam" and the most revered sacred peak in Southern Vietnamese folklore. Steeped in the poignant legend of Linh Son Thanh Mau (Lady Ba Den)—an avatar of chastity, devotion, and compassionate benevolence—the mountain has welcomed pilgrims for over three centuries to its historic cliffside shrines, notably Ba Pagoda (Linh Son Tien Thach Tu), Hang Pagoda, and Trung Pagoda nestled amidst ancient granite boulders. In recent years, Mount Ba Den has undergone an awe-inspiring renaissance into a world-class spiritual and ecological wonderland. The crowning glory gracing the misty summit is the monumental Bronze Bodhisattva Statue of Tay Bo Da Son, soaring 72 meters tall upon an ornate tiered lotus pedestal at an elevation over 900 meters, officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the "Tallest Mountain-Top Bronze Buddha Statue in Asia". Directly beneath the lotus throne lies a state-of-the-art Buddhist art museum utilizing cutting-edge 3D holographic projection and immersive architectural mapping to illuminate Buddhist cosmology. Conquering the sacred summit is an exhilarating journey via the Sun World Ba Den Mountain cable car system, celebrated for operating the world's largest cable car station. Stepping onto the peak feels like entering a celestial paradise, surrounded by vibrant temperate flower terraces in perpetual bloom, sweeping observation plazas above the clouds, and the iconic 986-meter granite summit marker where adventurers can witness ethereal sunrise cloud oceans stretching endlessly across the border toward Cambodia and Dau Tieng Lake.
